Fulton County DA Fani Willis Left Speechless as Trump Gets a Huge Win

An impressive majority of Georgia residents have found the prosecution of former President Donald J. Trump by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to be unfair, with a majority also believing that “it’s likely that cheating affected the outcome of the 2020 presidential election in the state.”

A majority also said they believe that cheating will affect the 2024 outcome. But most concerningly for Willis, a majority of 53% said that the Georgia legislature should be convened to stop her from prosecuting the former President.

The survey of 1,061 likely Georgia voters was conducted online by Rasmussen Reports and The Absolute Truth With Emerald Robinson from September 8-11, 2023, and establishes that most Georgians do not support the efforts of DA Willis against Trump.

According to Rasmussen: “56% of Likely Georgia voters believe it is likely Trump is being unfairly prosecuted by Willis, including 39% who say it’s Very Likely. Thirty-seven percent (37%) don’t think it’s likely Willis is unfairly prosecuting Trump, including 28% who say an unfair prosecution is Very Unlikely.”

Furthermore, a majority of 52% of the likely voters polled believe that it is likely cheating affected the 2020 election outcome as Trump has repeatedly stressed with 30% telling pollsters it’s “Very Likely” that cheating affected the outcome.

Only 35% said it’s not likely and 22% said it’s not at all likely. Thirteen percent of likely voters weren’t sure.

All told: a startling 65% of Georgia voters were either unsure if cheating threw the election or believed it likely did.

The pollster reported in other findings that:

–Fifty-five percent (55%) of Georgia voters believe it is likely that cheating will affect the outcome of the 2024 presidential election in their state, including 27% who say it’s Very Likely. Seventy percent (70%) of Republicans in Georgia think cheating is at least somewhat likely to affect next year’s election outcome, as do 44% of Democrats and 51% of voters not affiliated with either major party.

–Forty-five percent (45%) of Georgia voters approve of President Joe Biden’s job performance, including 26% who Strongly Approve. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove of Biden’s performance as president, including 43% who Strongly Disapprove. Biden’s job approval is 80% among Democrats and 66% among black voters in Georgia, while 84% of Republicans and 64% of whites disapprove of Biden’s job performance.

–Fifty-eight percent (58%) of Georgia voters have a favorable impression of Trump, including 34% with a Very Favorable opinion. Forty-one percent (41%) view Trump unfavorably, including 33% with a Very Unfavorable impression of the former president. Eighty-eight percent (88%) of Georgia Republicans view Trump at least somewhat favorably.

–If the 2024 election were held today, Trump would win Georgia by a nine-point margin, with 47% to Joe Biden’s 38%.

As previously reported in August, Republican Georgia state Senator Clint Dixon said that he intends to use the Prosecutorial Oversight Committee to investigate DA Willis.

“Once the Prosecutorial Oversight Committee is appointed in October, we can call on them to investigate and take action against Fani Willis and her efforts that weaponize the justice system against political opponents,” he said. “This is our best measure, and I will be ready to call for that investigation.”

The Republican-led U.S. House Judiciary Committee has also begun pressuring Willis to provide details into her investigation of Trump. “Your indictment and prosecution implicate substantial federal interests, and the circumstances surrounding your actions raise serious concerns about whether they are politically motivated,” the committee said in a letter sent to Willis.

It continued,“Turning first to the question of motivation, it is noteworthy that just four days before this indictment, you launched a new campaign fundraising website that highlighted your investigation into President Trump.”

“Additionally, the forewoman of the special grand jury you convened to investigate President Trump earlier this year bragged during an unusual media tour about her excitement at the prospect of subpoenaing President Trump and getting to swear him in,” the letter noted.

Absent public support, it would appear that the ongoing prosecution of Trump, and indeed Willis’ position in the DA role are at substantial risk.
