A thoughtful First Lady “Time for prayer”: Melania Trump

Following the devastating floods in central Texas that claimed at least 27 lives—nine of them children—First Lady Melania Trump shared a heartfelt message of comfort on X, saying, “My thoughts and prayers are with the parents in Texas. I’m praying for you… for fortitude and consolation.”

The floods destroyed Camp Mystic and left over 20 children still missing. Survivors described terrifying scenes of collapsing cabins, rope bridges, and helicopter rescues.

President Trump called the disaster “shocking” and confirmed federal support for rescue and recovery efforts, working with Texas Governor Greg Abbott. Over 400 responders, helicopters, and drones are aiding search missions.

Melania’s message served as a powerful gesture of empathy in a week marked by grief and uncertainty, reminding families they are not alone.
