Husband Mocks Old Egg Wife Bought at Flea

Jen has always been a flea market junkie, a passion she inherited from summers spent with her grandmother hunting for “preloved jewels.”

Despite her husband Sam’s constant mocking of her finds, she never stopped scouring flea markets for treasures, no matter how much he called it “junk.

”One Saturday, Jen visited a street fair and stumbled upon a small porcelain egg at a vendor’s booth. The man claimed it was a bargain at $25, but Jenbargained him down to $10. Sam was unimpressed when she brought it home, calling it worthless, especially after he found the words “Made in Hong Kong”stamped on the bottom. But Jen wasn’t deterred. When she shook the egg, she noticed something inside and insisted there was more to it. Sam, not believing

it, opened the egg, and to both of their surprise, inside was a tiny bundle of red silk containing a pair of earrings. Sam assumed they were fake, but when he breathed on one of the stones, it didn’t fog up—a sure sign it was a real diamond. They took the earrings to a jeweler, who appraised

them at a value of $300,000, later realizing they were worth even more. At auction, the earrings sold for $3 million, The unexpected windfall allowed

them to buy a new house, and the porcelain egg now takes pride of place on their mantel. Sam, once a skeptic,

is now just as hooked on flea markets as Jen, and together, they continue to search for hidden treasures
