Tragic Update On US Olympic Hero Mary Lou Retton’s Condition

The alarming news about Mary Lou Retton’s health has prompted her daughter, McKenna Kelley, to establish a *spotfund. The purpose is to provide insights into her mother’s current condition. According to Kelley, Retton has been under intensive care for more than a week, facing the arduous challenge of pneumonia, which has left her unable to breathe independently. In a show of respect for her mother’s privacy, Kelley has refrained from sharing further details. However, she has made one poignant revelation: Mary Lou Retton does not have insurance.

In a heartfelt Instagram story, Kelley has made an appeal to well-wishers: “Please consider helping our family out, and most importantly, please continue to pray.”

Mary Lou Retton’s remarkable journey began in Fairmont, West Virginia, her hometown. She carved her name into Olympic history during the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Not stopping there, Mary Lou Retton accomplished a historic feat during those same Olympics. She became the first American to clinch the coveted all-around gold in gymnastics.
