Hollywood star Eric Dane stunned fans on September 15, 2025, with an emotional Instagram video supporting the I Am ALS organization. Viewers noticed his slurred speech and muscle twitches, following his public ALS diagnosis earlier this year on Good Morning America. Wearing a navy I Am ALS shirt, Dane introduced himself: “I’m Eric.
An actor, a father, and now a person living with ALS.
” He urged support for Push for Progress, a campaign to raise $1 billion in three years for research, treatment access, and legislation renewal. “We have to do it now,” he stressed.
His post came after missing the 2025 Emmy Awards, where he was scheduled to appear with Grey’s Anatomy co-star Jesse Williams to mark the show’s 20th anniversary. His absence canceled the tribute, leaving Williams to present alone. Dane revealed his ALS journey in April, describing early symptoms like weakness in his right hand.
Despite the diagnosis, he continues working, calling acting a lifeline: “It keeps me sharp. It keeps me moving forward.” He also shared family struggles, including a boating scare where his daughter saved him, and praised wife Rebecca Gayheart for her strength.
Now, Dane is more than a Hollywood star—he’s a father, advocate, and fighter determined to inspire others and push for progress in the fight against ALS.
