The Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) reported the 4.4-centimeter insect on August 11, just 3.2 kilometers from its initial 2019 sighting near Blaine, Washington. This \u201cmurder hornet\u201d is known for its aggressive behavior and ability to attack anything in its path.<\/p>\n
\u201cMurder hornets\u201d are notorious for wiping out entire beehives with their formidable mandibles. They kill and decapitate thousands of bees, taking over the hive and feeding their offspring on the brood. Their venomous sting can be lethal to humans, although fatalities from a single sting are rare.<\/p>\n
