The sign was posted in the man\u2019s lawn and included a threat to drivers coming through the neighborhood at high speed.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe buried our dog last week because you won\u2019t slow down,\u201d the sign read. \u201cIf you hit 1 of my kids your family may be burying you.\u201d<\/p>\n
The photo was originally posted to Reddit and quickly went viral after it was shared.<\/p>\n
\u201cI never understand why people speed through neighborhoods\u2026or parking lots. Seriously\u2026what\u2019s the logic in that?\u201d one commenter asked on the original post.<\/p>\n
Many readers applauded the man for putting up the sign and making a strong statement about safety.<\/p>\n
\u201cLove the sign. People drive way too fast in neighborhoods. More than 20 is to fast. Kids on bikes. Kids playing in their own yard and a ball goes in the street, it happens. So why is there this problem. Well it\u2019s because people are f**king idiots. Plain and simple,\u201d one reader commented on Facebook.<\/p>\n
\u201cDamn straight! One of my dogs got away from me and the woman who ran over him didn\u2019t even slow down. Just ran over him. Same could happen to a child,\u201d another wrote.<\/p>\n
\u201cf people would slow down they might get to where their going without any problems. Because the place their going won\u2019t move before they get there,\u201d noted a third.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, some felt that the dog\u2019s owners didn\u2019t deserve sympathy, considering that they let the animal roam free.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t feel sorry for them one bit. Have the same problem in my neighborhood. Everyone thinks it is free range country for dogs and cats. My dogs do not leave my property without my permission,\u201d one reader commented.<\/p>\n
