The two teens scurried off, casting nervous glances over their shoulders. Molly, still clutching her purse tightly, looked up at her unexpected savior.<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you,\u201d she said, her voice trembling slightly with relief. \u201cI didn\u2019t know what I was going to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
The man offered a reassuring smile. \u201cNo need to thank me, ma\u2019am. It\u2019s just the right thing to do. My name\u2019s Jack, by the way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jack shook her hand, giving a modest shrug. \u201cHappy to help. Just glad I was here at the right time.\u201d<\/p>\n
As the three of them chatted, the bus station\u2019s PA system announced the arrival of Alice\u2019s bus. \u201cThat\u2019s my ride,\u201d Alice said. \u201cMom, are you sure you\u2019ll be okay getting home?\u201d<\/p>\n
