The AP has officially called the presidential race for Donald Trump, and the reactions from mainstream media are pouring in, none more fiery than those from the hosts of \u2018The View.\u2019<\/p>\n
The daytime talk show\u2019s co-hosts erupted during Wednesday\u2019s broadcast, not holding back in their opinions about Trump\u2019s win and their frustrations over what they claim is unchecked misinformation and a failure to regulate social media. As the segment began, co-hosts Joy Behar and Sara Haines were visibly shaken. Behar didn\u2019t mince words about the perceived dangers of \u201cfake news\u201d and her desire for increased censorship to \u201cteach children tolerance.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cCan we not let Fox News off the hook, please?\u201d Behar said. \u201cAll the fake news that\u2019s been going out there. You know, one of the things that we need to do, and it\u2019s not to abolish the Department of Education, as a former teacher, believe me, this is, he\u2019s [Trump] talking about doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Haines weighed in, saying, \u201cWell, it would help if we could regulate social media \u2026 because one of the biggest defenders is D.C. and Congress, have not been able to do one thing in regard to the rogue corporations.\u201d<\/p>\n
