Luke was a six-year-old boy, who shocked his mother, Amy, when he said that he has a twin in his school.<\/p>\n
For many years, Amy had the great life with Jeff, and son Luke, where they were having great time as a family.<\/p>\n
One afternoon, as Luke came back from the school, he talked about his day to his mother, Amy.<\/p>\n
\u201cMom,\u201d Luke started, \u201cI swear\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat did we say about swearing?\u201d Amy asked to her son.<\/p>\n
\u201cMom,\u201d he continued, \u201cI\u2019m telling you, Luna is my twin sister!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cLuke,\u201d Amy responded with confusion, \u201cYou\u2019re an only child, honey.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNo, Mom! I\u2019m serious. Luna and I have the same birthday, and we look alike. The teachers think that we\u2019re twins, too.\u201d<\/p>\n
As Amy continued to cook, Luke kept talking about Luna, about what she would like to do, to wear, to eat, etc.<\/p>\n
\u201cMom, she\u2019s great. You\u2019ll like her!\u201d Luke said then.<\/p>\n
As Jeff was not at home yet, Amy thought that Luna was a special friend for Luke.<\/p>\n
\u201cDo you think you have a photo of Luna?\u201d She asked to her son than. Luke ran to his bedroom, and brought the class photo. When Luke pointed Luna on the picture, Amy noticed that even though she had seen the picture before, she never noticed anyone else than her son.<\/p>\n
But Luna\u2019s resemblance to Luke was uncanny, as also her mother-in-law was confused with the resemblance too.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy don\u2019t we invite Luna over?\u201d Amy asked to Luke. \u201cIf her mom is okay with it, then you two can have a playdate.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cDo you think she\u2019ll come?\u201d Luke asked. \u201cLike really come over?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll speak to her mom tomorrow when I drop you off,\u201d Amy smiled to her son.<\/p>\n
When Jeff returned from work, he was too tired, and they didn\u2019t talked about what happened that day. As Jeff directly went to bed after dinner, Amy couldn\u2019t sleep. As she struggled, the morning arrived.<\/p>\n
Penelope was Luna\u2019s mother, and Amy met with the woman after she left Luke at school. Then they arranged a playdate.<\/p>\n
\u201cLuna talks about Luke all the time, Amy,\u201d Penelope said. \u201cThis will be great for them to spend time together outside of school.\u201d<\/p>\n
When the day arrived and Penelope brought Luna for the playdate, Jeff was home too. When he saw the freshly baked cookies, he asked, \u201cWhat\u2019s going on? We\u2019re having people over?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYes,\u201d Amy said. But she decided not to talk about the situation, as she was suspicious of her husband.<\/p>\n
As the door got knocked, and Luke opened the door, Luna rushed towards Jeff as she saw him. Jeff went pale with the scenery, as he saw Penelope and Luna.<\/p>\n
\u201cDaddy!\u201d Luna screamed, \u201cI told you she was my sister!\u201d Luke responded. Penelope was shocked.
\nAs they let the children play, they started to talk.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a long time ago, Mary,\u201d Jeff started. \u201cWell, it was just before we found out that you were pregnant with Luke.\u201d<\/p>\n
Amy learned about the one night affair Jeff had years ago, and revealed the truth. Penelope was silent while Jeff was talking.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, you knew?\u201d Amy asked. \u201cThe entire time, you knew?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI had to meet her,\u201d Jeff said. \u201cThere was nothing else I could do.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI told Jeff to keep it a secret,\u201d Penelope said. \u201cI didn\u2019t mind being a single mother to Luna, and my family helped me whenever I needed them.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI never meant for any of this to happen,\u201d Jeff said then.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy would you put the kids in the same school?\u201d Amy asked. \u201cDid you really think that their paths were not going to cross?\u201d<\/p>\n
Then Penelope started to talk, \u201cJeff didn\u2019t know about the school. I enrolled Luna in it recently, and anyway, Jeff knows the bare minimum about my daughter \u2014 it was what he wanted.\u201d<\/p>\n
As Amy was confused, and needed some time to think, she went outside to check on the kids. She watched Luna and Luke playing.
