Texas recently expressed that it is 100% on board with President-elect Donald Trump\u2019s plans for mass deportations, offering over 1,400 acres of land in the Rio Grande Valley sector near the southern border with Mexico to help carry out the removal of illegal aliens. Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham wrote a letter to Trump explaining the Lone Star State\u2019s willingness to assist the incoming administration.<\/p>\n
According to a report from Fox News Digital, Buckingham\u2019s letter to Trump stated that Texas is \u201cfully prepared to enter into an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or the United States Border Patrol to allow a facility to be built for the processing, detention, and coordination of the largest deportation of violent criminals in the nation\u2019s history.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a recent interview, Buckingham illustrated why she is motivated to assist Trump\u2019s deportation agenda. \u201cWhat I care about is that we have safe communities, and there is no doubt that we are losing too many of our children to these violent criminals that are coming across the border,\u201d she said. \u201cI am 100% on board with the Trump administration\u2019s pledge to get these criminals out of our country, and we are more than happy to offer our resources to facilitate those deportations of these violent criminals.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 1,402 acres, purchased from a ranch owner, sits in Starr County and is prime real estate for the administration. \u201cRight now, it\u2019s essentially farmland, so it\u2019s flat, it\u2019s easy to build on. We could very easily put a detention center on there, a holding place as we get these criminals out of our country,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s accessible to international airports as well as a major crossing over the river. And so we\u2019re just happy to get help, do anything we can to get these violent criminals off of our soil.\u201d<\/p>\n
Buckingham noted that the mandate given to Trump by American voters shows the widespread support for his immigration agenda. \u201cThis election was a resounding referendum on the fact that Americans want safe communities. We want people to immigrate legally and legally only and that the administration\u2019s policies over the last four years have failed every American citizen,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The American Tribune recently reported on comments from Vice President-elect JD Vance, who outlined the Trump administration\u2019s plans to deport illegal immigrants. When asked what it would look like for President Trump to carry out \u201cmass deportations,\u201d Vance suggested that illegal immigrants, particularly those who have committed violent crimes, should \u201cpack\u201d their \u201cbags.\u201d<\/p>\n
Vance said, \u201cI think it\u2019s very simple. Actually, the first thing that you have to do, and the first ;thing that President Trump will do, is stop the massive inflow of illegal aliens in the first place. You gotta stop the bleeding before you can actually fix the problem here. And we still have 1000s of people coming across the border illegally every single day.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s important that we send a message that if you have come to this country illegally, if you plowed into an innocent mom and her daughter and they lost their lives because of your actions.
