Sen. Rand Paul, a Kentucky Republican known to be an ally of Donald Trump, has nevertheless announced he won\u2019t support the president\u2019s pick to lead the Labor Department.<\/p>\n

The senator told Fox News Radio correspondent Ryan Schmelz and NBC News senior political reporter Sahil Kapur that he would vote \u201cno\u201d on Lori Chavez-DeRemer\u2019s confirmation, citing her \u201cvery pro-labor\u201d views as the key factor behind his decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think she\u2019ll lose 15 Republicans and she\u2019ll get 25 Democrats,\u201d he told Schmelz. \u201cI mean, she\u2019s very pro-labor. She might get all the Democrats. Who knows.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump nominated Chavez-DeRemer as his Secretary of Labor in November, specifically highlighting her commitment to supporting American workers.<\/p>\n
