Award-winning actress and Golden Globe winner Barbara Rush has died at the age of 97.<\/p>\n
The actress who was best known for her parts in Peyton Place and It Came From Outer Space died.<\/p>\n
It was confirmed by her daughter Claudia Cowan that her mother died peacefully.<\/p>\n
It was peaceful when my wonderful mother died this evening at 5:28. Fox News quoted her as saying, \u201cI was with her this morning and know she was waiting for me to get home safely to transition.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s fitting she chose to leave on Easter as it was one of her favorite holidays and now, of course, Easter will have a deeper significance for me and my family.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her death comes just a few months after her daughter wrote an Instagram birthday tribute to her.<\/p>\n
She shines like the sun and glows like the moon, Cowan wrote in January.<\/p>\n
\u201cHer age doesn\u2019t change the sparkle in her eyes, the kindness in her heart, or the knowledge in her soul.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTo me, she is 97 years young.\u201d<\/p>\n
Many famous actors and actresses, including Marlon Brando and Dean Martin, worked with Rush during her long and successful career.<\/p>\n
The legendary actress was best known for the melodramas she did in the 1950s.<\/p>\n
She began acting on stage, but it was in the 1953 science fiction horror movie It Came From Outer Space that she got her big break.<\/p>\n
She won a prestigious Golden Globe for most promising newcomer \u2013 female for this role.<\/p>\n
She went on to work with Frank Sinatra in the movies Robin and the Seven Hoods (1964) and Come Blow Your Horn (1963).<\/p>\n
Rush was also a huge hit on TV, but she is best known for her role in Peyton Place.<\/p>\n
For many seasons, she played Marsha Russell on the popular soap opera.<\/p>\n

\nRush worked on more than one soap opera. She played Eudora Weldon on NBC\u2019s Flamingo Road.<\/p>\n
After three marriages and divorces, Rush got a divorce.<\/p>\n
First, she married actor Jeffery Hunter in 1950. Then, she married Warren Cowan in 1959. Finally, in 1970, she married sculptor Jim Gruzalski.<\/p>\n
Rush had lived her last few years away from the attention of Hollywood.<\/p>\n
That February, her daughter Claudia posted a picture of herself and her mom on Instagram.<\/p>\n
Recently, Cowan wrote, \u201cTime with my mom is extra special these days.\u201d<\/p>\n
As her time runs out, I\u2019m going to see her as often as I can to show her how much I love and appreciate her.<\/p>\n
