She went missing in Hunt, Texas, after a flash flood struck while she was with friends. Her body was found days later<\/p>\n
following desperate searches. Her family, while heartbroken, thanked the community for its support. Three of her friends\u2014Ella Cahill,Reese Manchaca, and Aidan Heartfield\u2014were also swept away. Reese was confirmed dead, while Ella and Aidan are still missing.<\/p>\n
Joyce\u2019s final moments were described as emotional. She was on the phone with a friend\u2019s father as the waters rose.<\/p>\n
The group attempted to escape but was overtaken by the current. Her mother said she believes Joyce is now watching over them from above<\/p>\n
