I told Evan things had to change. We would find another way to help Emma, one that didn\u2019t involve these covert nocturnal visits. I reached out to a child psychologist the very next day, determined to get to the root of Emma\u2019s sleep disturbances.<\/p>\n

Evan moved to the guest room that night, a silent agreement that something had to change. I watched over Emma more closely, attuned to her needs, vigilant in my duties as a mother.<\/p>\n
