My husband and I have always had this nightly routine where we go out to the pool once the sun goes down. He basically told us we needed to stop using the pool at night without giving us any real reason or even a polite apology. We were honestly pretty annoyed because we weren\u2019t making any noise or playing music, so we just ignored the request and kept doing what we were doing. We even installed a water feature that we could turn off completely to keep the yard silent during her bedtime. A few weeks later, the boy waved at me from the yard with a shy smile, looking a lot less stressed than the night he handed me that paper. Our pool routine changed, but it felt better knowing our silence was helping a little girl get some peace.
