My husband saw our newborn & threw my things out on the street – Then he got a DNA test

“Childbirth is more admirable than conquest, more amazing than self-defense, and as courageous as either one.” — Gloria Steinem.

Giving birth is painful, but divine and wonderful. Witnessing a baby born and welcoming this angel into the world is great, and it wasn’t any different for a woman who goes at SweetBabyZ2020 on Reddit.

Sadly, what was supposed to be the most precious moment of her life turned into a bitter and a rather challenging experience because of the skin of her newborn daughter’s color.

It turned out that the baby was darker than anyone assumed, given the fact that both her mom and dad were quite white.

When the woman’s husband realized this, he was extremely angry. Without even talking to her, he was quick to share on his social media and inform everyone he knew that his wife was ch_eating on him.

The woman couldn’t believe what was happening. She attempted to assure him that the baby was his but she failed. This led him to threw her belongings out of the house, and that included everything they bought for their bundle of joy’s nursery.

“Jim refused to pick me up from the hospital, threw my stuff out on the lawn, and changed the locks, so I had to stay with my parents,” she recalled in her post on Reddit.

As a result, the woman had to live with her parents, still unable to pull herself together around the fact that she was accused of ch_eating.

A few weeks passed by, and Jim finally agreed on a DNA test. To his surprise, it showed 100% match between him and the baby. He then took it again, but the results were the same.

He felt extremely guilty of accusing his wife of adul_tery, and the baby’s dark skin turned to be due to Jim’s 30% African ancestry he was not aware of. This made a family secret to be revealed, that his great-grandmother had her son with an African man from an af_fair with him.

At that point, Jim tried making things right. He begged and apologized over and over again, but the woman wasn’t ready to forgive him for not trusting her and treating her with such disrespect.

“I can’t un-hear or unsee all the horrible things that were said and done. Not just to me but to my child as well.”

The family suggested they go for couple’s therapy, but the woman didn’t feel like trying to fix things that were broken beyond repair.

How Redditors reacted to her post

One person wrote: “Leave him and never look back. Go to court and let them decide custody. It’s not going to go well for him,”

After sharing her story, the woman posted an update and explained she and Jim were separating and that she was the primary custodian of their baby but she lets him visit their daughter.

Some Redditors noted that Jim’s initial reaction left OP with “permanent psychological trauma” but that in case he was aware of his great-grandmother’s af_fair he wouldn’t have probably acted like that.

What do you think of this? Do you believe OP is right for leaving Jim after everything he had done?

MY EX-HUSBAND GOT OUR HOUSE, CAR, AND ALL OUR MONEY AFTER THE DIVORCE — I LAUGHED BECAUSE THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I’D PLANNED. My marriage with Mike was done way before we signed any papers. He’d been more into his flashy image than into us for ages. Big cars, big house — if it screamed “Look at me,” he wanted it. So when he finally told me he wanted a divorce, I wasn’t shocked. What got me, though, was how quick he was to grab everything. “I want the house, the car, the savings,” he said, all smug. He even tossed me the crumbs — my personal stuff, as if that was some generous offer. I just smiled and nodded. I let him take it all because I knew what was coming. My lawyer looked at me like I was crazy, but I told her to let him have it. We signed the divorce papers, and I moved out that afternoon. I was eager to start my new life, but not before making one final call. Everything was set. The next morning, my phone rang, and it was Mike, absolutely livid. “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!” he screamed. “Oh, Mike,” I said, trying not to laugh, “What’s wrong now?” “You know exactly what’s wrong!” he yelled. “I’m in my living room, and guess what I’m looking at!” …⬇️ Full story in comments.

I RETURNED HOME FROM MY DAUGHTER’S FUNERAL TO FIND A TENT IN MY BACKYARD. A week ago, my 8-year-old daughter, Lily, passed away from can cer. The funeral was as devastating as you’d expect. By the time I got home, I was emotionally drained, but when I pulled into the driveway, I froze. There was a huge tent in my backyard. Bright and circus-like. On the day of my daughter’s funeral? It felt like a cruel joke. I couldn’t understand who would do this. My heart pounded as I pulled back the tent flap. Inside, there was a bundle wrapped in a blanket, just like Lily’s hospital one. My eyes filled with tears. I thought it was some twisted prank. But then the bundle moved. ⬇️
