The Department of Justice currently faces a $50 billion lawsuit where over 100 January 6 prisoners have banded together to take action against the federal government.
The legal group Federal Watchdog is representing the prisoners in the âJanuary 6 Restitution and Wrongful Incarceration Lawsuit, the largest lawsuit ever against the DOJ.
âThis isnât just about restitutionâitâs about setting a precedent,â said Lang, the founder of the anti-lawfare group. âWeaponized government and lawfare against conservatives can never become the standard in America.
Federal Watchdog claims that the FBI pursued plaintiffs who had protested at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, and described them as being âhunted down like animals.â
Lang continued, âThe damage to children who have spent four years without their fathers at home cannot be put into monetary value. But we must begin the healing process by holding those responsible for our unconstitutional,
cruel & unusual torture accountable! Weâre standing up to secure restitution for the thousands of broken lives left in the wake of the January 6 persecution. This is about giving these families a chance to rebuild.â
Conservatives on social media have reacted to the news, where Mario Nawfal, postedon X, âđ¨$50 BILLION CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST DOJâ More than 100 Jan 6ers have filed a $50 billion class action lawsuit against the Department of Justice, alleging wrongful incarceration and harm under what they describe as a âweaponized justice system.ââ
The conservative social media commentator continued, âThe lawsuit, led by Jake Lang and supported by Federal Watchdog, seeks restitution for lost businesses, homes, careers, and emotional damage caused by prolonged imprisonment. Set to be filed in January 2025, the case aims to highlight their âexperiences and advocate for justice.ââ
Various other users praised the legal group for taking on the DOJ, which some have criticized as being weaponized against conservatives. One person commented on the matter, âThis is the kind of action we need! We need to keep these brave men and women in our prayers, for God to give them strength, wisdom and power to keep these people accountable. They need the Holy Spiritâs help.â
Another comment read, âFinally, someoneâs taking a stand against the corrupt DOJ! This lawsuit is long overdue, and Iâm thrilled to see Jan 6ers fighting back against the injustice theyâve faced. The weaponization of our justice system is a threat to us all. Letâs hope this lawsuit brings accountability and change to the DOJ. The American people deserve better than a two-tiered system of justice.â
Another person commented, âPrayers for justice and restoration and restitution for all that the patriots lost. May those who illegally participated in unfair law fare and using their office to administer unjust sentences receive the retribution they so rightly deserve. Loss of law licenses would be a good start.â
Echoing sentiment regarding the weaponization of the justice system, another person wrote, âWeaponised justice system is probably the softest way to describe the way these people were prosecuted. The way the media portrayed their actions, youâd truly think this was the beginning of a civil war.
