This is my go-to cheat meal, and I had to share it with you all.. Full recipe 👇 💬

Three-ingredient pot roast is a lifesaver for busy weekdays! This dish comes together effortlessly in the slow cooker, which means you can set it, forget it,

and come home to a delicious, warm meal. The ‘three packets’ in this recipe – ranch, Italian dressing, and brown gravy – bring an incredible depth of flavor, making this a family favorite in our house. Perfect for those chilly Midwest evenings when you need something hearty and satisfying!

This pot roast goes wonderfully with classic side dishes like creamy mashed potatoes or buttery egg noodles.

You could also add some steamed green beans or roasted carrots to round out the meal. Don’t forget to scoop up some of that delicious slow-cooked gravy to drizzle over everything!
Slow Cooker 3 Packet Pot Roast
Servings: 6-8

Ingredients
3-4 pound chuck roast
1 packet ranch seasoning mix
1 packet Italian dressing mix
1 packet brown gravy mix
1 cup water

Optional: chopped vegetables (carrots, potatoes, onions)
Directions
1. Place the chuck roast in the slow cooker.
2. Sprinkle the ranch, Italian dressing, and brown gravy packets directly onto the roast.

3. Pour the cup of water around the sides of the roast (not on top to avoid rinsing off the seasonings).
4. If you’re adding vegetables, place them around the roast now.

5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the roast is tender and shreds easily with a fork.

6. Once done, shred the roast with two forks and mix it back into the juices before serving.
Variations & Tips

For a healthier twist, try using a leaner cut of beef like a bottom round roast. You can also experiment with different seasoning packet flavors to refresh the recipe each time. If you’re keen on extra sauce,

mix in some beef broth with the water. Vegetables like celery and mushrooms can add more depth to the flavors. And for those who love a bit of spice, adding a touch of red pepper flakes or a few pepperoncini peppers can give the roast a nice kick!

THE DOG THEY WANTED US TO PUT DOWN IS THE ONLY REASON MY DAUGHTER SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT 🐾💔 We rescued Tank six months after the divorce. The shelter labeled him “unadoptable” — too big, too strong, with a presence they called intimidating. But I saw how he flinched when someone raised their voice. How he gently sat down when my daughter Leila peeked at him through the kennel bars. He didn’t bark. He just waited. Against everyone’s advice, I brought him home. Leila was five and hadn’t slept through the night since her dad left. The nightmares. The crying. The 3 a.m. sobbing fits. It shattered me. Therapists tried to help, but nothing worked. Then one night, Leila crawled onto the couch where Tank had dozed off like a tired old bear. She tucked herself beside him and whispered, “Don’t worry, I’ve got nightmares too.” Tank didn’t move. But she stayed there. All night. Peacefully. After that, she called him her “dream bouncer.” She said the bad dreams couldn’t get in when Tank was there. It was working. She was healing. Until someone in the building complained. Said there was a dangerous dog in the complex. That their child was “terrified.” Management showed up with a clipboard and a thin threat. “Remove the dog… or face consequences.” I looked at Tank, curled beside Leila, her tiny hand resting on his ear… And I knew exactly what I had to do. But I also knew one thing for sure: I wasn’t going down without a fight. 👇 (Full story in the first comment)
