My Daughter Cut Me Off Financially After I Refused to Babysit My Grandson

A little backstory: I’m 58, retired, and living what I thought was a peaceful life. My daughter, let’s call her Sarah, is my pride and joy.
I raised her as a single mom, working long hours and sacrificing a lot to give her the life she deserved. It paid off.

She’s now a highly successful entrepreneur, and a couple of years ago, she insisted on giving me a monthly allowance when I retired early. She called it “payback” for everything I’d done for her.

When Sarah had her baby, I was thrilled to be a grandma. But soon, she asked me to babysit three days a week. I love my grandson, but I didn’t retire to be a full-time nanny. When I said no, she cut off the financial support she’d been giving me. The worst part: I haven’t seen my grandson since.
