Tim Walz Ripped Over Attempt To Shame Trump For Moving Inauguration Indoors

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz didn’t get the results he may have expected when he attempted to troll President-elect Donald Trump’s decision to move his inauguration indoors on Monday due to a forecast of extremely cold weather for Washington, D.C.

In response to the announcement, Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate took to social media to post a photo of himself giving a speech outdoors during a snowstorm — presumably in his home state.

Walz appeared to be sending the message that he can handle inclement weather much better than Trump, despite the Trump transition team’s concerns not for the president-elect but for the tens of thousands of Americans who planned to attend the event.

Several users responded to Walz’s attempted troll with reminders that Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance handily defeated him and Harris.

Other Democrats are having difficulties coping with Trump’s historic victory.

Nancy Pelosi has often talked about preserving norms protecting democracy and accepting the results of an election, but it appears that her words are only words, but the former House Speaker has declined an invitation to be present at the inauguration, ABC News reported.

Her office did not give a reason as to why she was not attending, but the 84-year-old did suffer a broken hip after a fall last month in Germany.

Also, former First Lady Michelle Obama will not attend, though her husband and former President Barack Obama will be there.

“Former President Barack Obama is confirmed to attend the 60th Inaugural Ceremonies. Former First Lady Michelle Obama will not attend the upcoming inauguration,” the brief statement from the Office of Barack and Michelle Obama said.

“A spokesperson for former President George W. Bush confirmed he and former First Lady Laura Bush are planning to be at the Capitol for the festivities. Michelle Obama also did not attend funeral services for Jimmy Carter last week, where all the living former presidents congregated. The other living first ladies were also in attendance,” CBS News reported.

Since 2008, Michelle Obama has been present at every inauguration, including Trump’s first in 2017, as she and her husband were departing the White House. She talked about her experience attending Trump’s inauguration in 2023.

“To sit on that stage and watch the opposite of what we represented on display, there was no diversity, there was no color on that stage,” Obama said. “There was no reflection of the broader sense of America. Many people took pictures of me and they’re like, you weren’t in a good mood. No, I was not.”

The remarks come after Trump and Barack went viral last week after having a very friendly conversation at the National Cathedral while attending the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter. All living presidents attended.

Trump leaned in toward Obama, and Obama laughed a few times. While Obama and Trump talked, at one point Harris, who was seated in front of them next to second husband Doug Emhoff, turned around to face them but then quickly faced forward again with what appeared to be a combined look of frustration, angst, and disbelief.
