A recent incident at a Walmart in Windsor, Connecticut, highlights the unsettling potential for harm in everyday situations. Cheryl and Mel Johnson discovered a razor blade protruding from a shopping cart handle during a late-night visit.
Mel injured his hand, prompting them to alert the store manager, who immediately had all carts inspected, finding no additional blades. The police proposed that it could be a malicious prank or a tool used by shoplifters to remove security tags. This isnā€™t the first occurrence; a similar incident happened in 2015 in North Dakota. The Johnsons are thankful Melā€™s injury wasnā€™t severe, but the situation could have been much worse, especially if children were involved or if the blade had rusted.
