Leading Dem Ripped As ‘Joke’ During Hearing For Attacking Musk

Serial entrepreneur and author Magatte Wade criticized Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) and other Democrats, accusing them of making it “clear” in Congress that they are “not working for the American people.”

Wade, testifying as a congressional witness during a February 11 Judiciary hearing, went viral for calling out Raskin’s inflammatory remarks about Elon Musk and his DOGE force.

“Do we really need to hire a fourth branch of government called Elon Musk to go out and do it for us?” Rep. Raskin had asked the room on Tuesday, calling Musk and his DOGE team “mutant teenage racist computer hackers.”

Raskin went on to claim, without presenting evidence, that Musk and his team had taken control of financial payment systems at the United States Department of Treasury and had access to the private financial records of Americans.

Wade criticized Rep. Raskin in Congress for “complaining” about Musk while also questioning what congressional members’ “endgame” was in attacking DOGE’s process.

“What is the endgame? Isn’t the endgame to make us, the American people, better off? Isn’t it?” Wade asked. She argued that Democratic lawmakers should prioritize aiding Americans over focusing on Musk.

“Keep your eye on the ball. And your ball should be me,” she said during the hearing. “How do we make me better off?”

Later, she told Fox News’ Will Cain that watching Democrats during the hearing was a “joke.”

The entrepreneur from Africa, who has launched businesses in both Senegal and Silicon Valley, emphasized the critical issue of overregulation discussed during the hearing.

“We’re talking about probably the most important thing in America right now,” she argued. Wade emphasized that she has observed the negative effects of overregulation on individuals and small businesses in her native country.

“It means the difference between life and death, war or peace, being free or enslaved. And in the end, if we’re talking about human dignity here,” she told Cain.

The entrepreneur remarked that while listening to Raskin and other congressional members, it became clear to her that these leaders were not just “ignoring you” but actively “nagging you.”

“And then you wonder to yourself, wait? Are you not working for us? Have you been put in this position by us? Are you not reporting to us? So the whole thing seemed upside down,” she said.

Wade described leaving the congressional hearing deeply concerned about what the government has become, stating that the Maryland Democrat was “clearly” not working in the best interests of the American people.

“I don’t know who he’s working for, but it’s not for us,” she said.

WATCH:

Raskin is only the latest Democrat to receive pushback for criticizing Musk’s mission, which is to cut wasteful government spending after decades of Congress refusing to balance the budget and stuffing spending bills with pork-laden pet projects, creating a nearly $37 trillion national debt.

That said, Democrat-aligned groups are also pushing back against Musk, who President Donald Trump appointed to identify wasteful spending across the entirety of the federal government. Left-wing groups are using lawfare to stop Musk, but not all of the pushback has been effective.

A federal judge on Friday indefinitely postponed a final ruling on a request by labor unions to block Elon Musk’s government efficiency team from accessing internal system data, telling both parties, “You will hear from me,” but declining to provide a specific timeline for a decision.

The update from U.S. District Judge John Bates, a George W. Bush appointee, comes just a week after he denied an earlier request from unions representing Labor Department employees for a temporary restraining order to prevent DOGE from accessing internal data. Bates ruled that the plaintiffs lacked standing and failed to demonstrate potential harm from the actions.

In response, the unions broadened their lawsuit, amending their complaint to include the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Fox News reported.
