Judges Thought She Picked A Hard Song, But Once She Started Singing I Got Chills

Before making her stage debut on America’s Got Talent in 2016, singer-songwriter Grace WanderWaal gave a quick preview during her audition.

At the age of twelve, Grace, who was born in Kansas but was living in New York at the time, declared, “I’m doing my own song tonight, because I really think that it shows who I am.””Hopefully. I hope it does.

In summary, the answer is yes.

Grace was predicted to be “the next Taylor Swift” due to her exceptional performance. It also led her on a prosperous, confetti-strewn path. She took home the $1 million prize on AGT in Season 11.

Grace VanderWaal’s Initial AGT Interview

When Judge Simon Cowell asked Grace if she thought she could win, she replied, “Miracles can happen, so possibly.”

“It’s about me,” she responded when Simon asked what song she would be performing. The majority of her school pals “don’t really know I sing,” she continued.

Her unique voice and emotional songwriting style were initially heard by her friends and all AGT viewers.

From the first note of “I Don’t Know My Name,” a direct and emotional song about finding your identity, Grace, accompanied on ukulele, dazzled.

“My name is unknown to me. Grace sang, “I don’t follow the rules of the game.””So you say, I’m just trying right now.”

What were the judges’ opinions?

Grace prepared to learn what the four judges thought of her audition as the standing audience sat down and the applause subsided.

Howie Mandel was not afraid to voice his thoughts.

He declared, “This is a show about surprises.””I believe you are a living, beautiful, walking miracle,” you said, using the word “miracle.”

“You’re unique,” Howie went on, referencing her song’s lyrics.”I believe that everyone will know your name, thus it’s both good and bad that others don’t know it. They will probably know your name by now.

Grace was immediately sent to live performances once he pressed the Golden Buzzer. Howie rushed to embrace Grace as she burst into tears of joy.”You are incredible,” he said to her.

Simon revealed that he was reminded of a pop star by Grace’s ability to draw inspiration for her songs from her personal experiences.”Grace, you are aware of what I have in store for you,” he added.”You are the next Taylor Swift, in my opinion.”

“What a wonderful girl. “What a wonderful character,” Simon told his fellow judges.

“Whoa,” Heidi Klum exclaimed.”That is really amazing.”

Mel B declared, “She is unique.”

“Do you believe you now have a star?”Simon was asked by Howie.

“I firmly believe we have a star,” Simon declared, adding that he was “irritated” that he was not given the opportunity to press the Golden Buzzer.

After becoming well-known on America’s Got Talent, Grace started her acting career in Stargirl and has since recorded CDs. She plays a pop star in Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.
