Teachers play a vital role in shaping young lives, often going above and beyond their duties. One such teacher is Jonathan Oliver, a phys-ed coach at WG Nunn Elementary in Valdosta, Georgia, who was praised for a kind act during a basketball game.

When kindergartener Kristen Paulk asked him to fix her hair, Coach Oliver knelt on a basketball and tied her ponytail, not realizing another teacher was recording the moment. The video went viral, touching hearts online and even making it to Good Morning America.

  • “It was just a ponytail,” Oliver said humbly, explaining that teachers try to make students feel at home. Kristen’s mom appreciated the sweet gesture, saying she knew her daughter was in good hands.
