Ainsley Earhardt opens up about love, loss, and the sweet nickname Sean Hannity calls her every morning

A Quiet Beginning Sparks a Lasting Romance

Ainsley Earhardt is more than just the “Sunshine” viewers see every morning on Fox & Friends. Behind the scenes, her long-rumored romance with fiancé Sean Hannity has quietly blossomed into something deeply personal and inspiring. In a heartfelt interview from her Park Avenue apartment, Earhardt revealed that Hannity affectionately calls her “Sunshine” every morning—a simple nickname that reflects her bright spirit and the energy she brings to waking up America.

From Heartbreak to Hope

For years, Earhardt and Hannity kept their relationship private. Then, in late 2024, the couple announced their engagement following a candlelit ceremony at their home church just before Christmas. Their bond grew not only through shared faith but also by weathering personal storms together.

Earhardt admitted she didn’t know about Hannity’s divorce at first. “No one did. It was quite personal,” she said. Similarly, Earhardt faced public pain after filing for divorce from former NFL quarterback Will Proctor in 2018. They had married in 2012 and welcomed a daughter, Hayden, in 2015, after a miscarriage. She explained, “I wanted to be married to one person forever because I was a really strong Christian. That wasn’t how my life turned out.”

Parenting and Finding Balance

Though divorced, Earhardt and Proctor share parenting duties for their 9-year-old daughter. Proctor handles morning drop-offs, while Earhardt picks her up. “I didn’t stay in a house just because we were married. I wanted Hayden to grow up in a happy home,” she emphasized.

Earhardt credits her faith and Hannity’s support for helping her through dark times, including her mother’s death in 2022. “I saw God even in the darkest moments. I was lifted up and carried through by His presence,” she reflected.

Love Across the Miles: Manhattan Meets Palm Beach

Earhardt lives in New York but spends weekends at Hannity’s $23.5 million Palm Beach home with Hayden. “After church on Sundays, we always have a family brunch before Hayden and I fly back,” she shared. Despite the distance, she treasures her life in the city.

Their upcoming wedding will be small and private, attended only by their children. Both have children from previous marriages—Hannity shares two adult children with his ex-wife Jill Rhodes. A prenuptial agreement is in place, reflecting Earhardt’s pragmatic view: “Divorce happens, but it’s not romantic.”

A Steady Love and Bright Future

Before becoming a public couple, Hannity simply stood by Earhardt during her hardest moments. “He was there when I was going through a really hard time,” she said. “I fell in love with him because we enjoyed each other’s company.”

The pair first sparked dating rumors in 2020, later making a dramatic helicopter entrance at Fox anchor Pete Hegseth’s wedding. However, they waited for approval from their employer before going public. “I’m crazy about this guy, so I really want your support,” Earhardt reportedly told her boss.

Now, she feels grateful for their journey. “Life is great now, but sometimes you feel alone during those dark times,” she admitted. “I’m enjoying every moment—even if it’s chaotic and a rollercoaster.”

And every morning, Sean Hannity’s simple word—“Sunshine”—still sets the tone.
