San Pedro de Macorís, March 12, 2025. A tragic traffic accident that occurred on the Eastern Highway,

at kilometer 10 in the Cumayasa area, resulted in the death of Ruth Delania Sosa Marte , a resident of the Barrio Lindo sector of San Pedro de Macorís.

The accident occurred in the afternoon when a gray Mazda Demio vehicle was traveling east-west with three occupants on board.

The car was driven by Angela Merici Ubiera Sosa , who was traveling with Maribel Sosa Polanco and the deceased, Ruth Sosa .

After the impact, the two survivors suffered injuries and were rushed to Villa Hermosa Hospital in La Romana for medical attention.

The deceased’s body was removed by forensic doctor Dr. Benito Kelly , while the damaged vehicle was taken to the Digesett Headquarters in La Romana for further investigation.

Fortunately, the incident did not cause damage to state infrastructure or private property.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the accident.

Meanwhile, family and friends deeply mourn the loss of Ruth Sosa , fondly remembering her in her community.
