Kevin turned to the cashier. “Call 911 if you haven’t already. We need an ambulance right away.”
The cashier nodded and scrambled to the phone. Meanwhile, Kevin knelt beside Jessica, holding her hand and offering comfort. Minutes crawled, but eventually, paramedics arrived.
