Locked Out After Giving Birth

Heartbroken and shaking, Emily stepped back onto the driveway and called her parents through tears. Admitting they had been right about Connor all along felt humiliating, but her mother remained calm and told her to stay where she was because they were already coming.

When her parents arrived, they immediately studied the property and the recent ownership transfer. Emily’s father pulled up county records and discovered the house had been transferred the previous day through a quitclaim deed with no payment listed. Something was clearly wrong.

Connor’s companion arrogantly insisted the property legally belonged to her now, but Emily’s mother quickly pointed out that marital property could not be transferred during medical incapacity using suspicious paperwork. Then they examined the signature on the deed more closely.

The signature looked similar to Emily’s — but it was fake. Emily confirmed she had signed nothing while recovering in the hospital. That was the moment her parents realized Connor had committed a serious legal mistake-
