I carried Leo out of the house without looking back. He held my hand tightly while I loaded our bags into the car. Neither of us said much during the drive.

Before midnight, I contacted my attorney, forwarded every document, and instructed the bank to freeze the entire transaction until a fraud investigation could be completed-
