Derek grabbed the police report with trembling hands, convinced it had to be a bluff. He quickly searched for something that would prove Skylar was only trying to scare him. Instead, another envelope caught his attention beside the wedding ring.

Inside were copies of the apartment deed, mortgage documents, and utility bills. Every record listed Skylar as the sole legal owner of the property. Derek stared at the papers in disbelief.
