‘Dawson’s Creek’ Star D.i.e.s at 48 After Cancer Battle…See below.

American actor James Van Der Beek, best known for playing Dawson Leery in the hit television series Dawson’s Creek, has died at the age of 48 following a battle with stage III colorectal cancer. His family confirmed that he passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, surrounded by his wife, Kimberly, and their six children.

Born on March 8, 1977, in Cheshire, Connecticut, Van Der Beek rose to international fame in the late 1990s through Dawson’s Creek, becoming one of television’s most recognizable young stars. He later appeared in films such as Varsity Blues and The Rules of Attraction, while also earning praise for his performances in CSI: Cyber, Pose, and Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23.
