The Man With a “Will Work for Food” Sign..

I saw a man by the roadside holding a sign that read, “Will Work for Food.” I pulled over and offered him $50 and lunch to paint my fence. He worked for four hours without complaining and did an excellent job. Over sandwiches on the porch, he told me he had once been a successful contractor,

but after losing his wife, he fell into bad habits and lost everything.
