I lost my dad suddenly when I was just 10 years old. His last gift to me was a singing teddy bear, which I treasured for years. Twenty years later, I gave it to my son for his 7th birthday, and when I opened it to replace the batteries, I discovered a small cassette hidden beside the battery box. With trembling hands, I found a recorder and pressed play. Tears filled my eyes as I heard my dad’s voice reading my favorite stories, sharing funny memories, and offering advice for my future. At the end, he explained that although he wouldn’t live to meet my children, he wanted me to share the recording with them so they could get to know their granddad. My mom had never known about it either. Now, my son listens to his grandfather’s voice, and the cassette has become my most treasured possession—a precious gift of love that survived 20 years, bringing my dad back to us in the most unexpected way.
