Benjamin Gründer, 37, had no idea that a trip to the Po River in Italy would result in one of the largest catches he had ever seen. It took all of his strength to catch it! Gründer had already made plans to capture something huge from the river, which is a popular area for other fishermen seeking for big catches and a favorite venue for popular anglers’ catch-and-release movies.

When Gründer felt his lure snag, he had such trouble getting it up that he mistook it for a tree. He was eventually able to move the rod and catch a glimpse of a shark-sized fish!Gründer spent nearly an hour reeling in the fish, using all of his might to overcome the catfish’s size and fight. When he finally got the massive catch on board and examined it, he realized he had broken a record.

However, without a weighing scale, it will not be formally recorded anywhere. The unofficial length and weight estimates are 8.8 feet and 284 pounds, respectively.It was a Wels catfish, one of the world’s largest freshwater fish species. From a single glance, the catch is really amazing. It was not only as long as his boat, but its fins were larger than Gründer’s hands.
