Chelsea’s coffee cup shattered across the driveway the moment she opened the bank notices. The mortgage guarantee had been revoked, the luxury SUV faced repossession, and a formal demand letter ordered immediate repayment of the $65,000 house loan they thought had been a gift. What they never understood was that every dollar had been carefully documented in my name.

When Logan stepped outside and read the paperwork, all the confidence drained from his face. He tried calling me immediately, but I had already blocked his number the night before. Sitting quietly across the street inside my car, I watched them panic for the first time in years.
