John Fetterman has been compared to Walter White after shaving his signature goatee into a mustache after losing a bet with his 13-year-old son.

The Democrat, who made headlines with his six-week hospitalization for depression, tweeted the shot of his new look on Saturday morning.

‘Lost a bet with Karl,’ Fetterman said, referencing his son. His wife, Gisele Baretto Fetterman, later tweeted that the bet was over a game of chess between the two.

Fetterman’s wife appeared to approve of the new look but couldn’t help joking: ‘I never knew he had a chin’ captioning a photo of the two on ‘date night.’

She added a screenshot of a text message from Fetterman showing off the mustache, to which she responded ‘I’m into it.’

Others on social media noted that he resembled various celebrities, with one making the comparison to Bryan Cranston’s famous role as Walter White in Breaking Bad.

‘Got a bit of Walter White there, useful for negotiations,’ said one approving reaction.

When one Twitter user suggested ‘You look like a Shop teacher. Just saying,’ another succinctly replied ‘more like a chemistry teacher.’

Cranston’s Walter works as a chemistry teacher before diverting to sell meth to try and keep his family whole while dying of cancer.

‘You can now go as G. Gordon Liddy for Halloween,’ added another commenter, referencing the infamous former FBI agent.

A more friendly commenter joked that Fetterman ‘beats Dr Oz, flexes and turns into Dr Phil.’

Fetterman dispatched with daytime TV doctor Mehmet Oz in a November 2022 election.

The senator was profiled for a cover story for Time magazine this month and said it was his debate against Republican Senate hopeful Mehmet Oz that led to his depressive episode.
